New Chief Executive appointed 2020.
“I never imagined some 20 years ago that I would one day be Chief Executive."
The Board of Trustees are delighted to announce the appointment of Malcolm Maclean as CORNWALL COUNTY PLAYING FIELDS ASSOCIATION’s Chief Executive Officer effective 31st March 2020.
Malcolm is not new to CORNWALL COUNTY PLAYING FIELDS ASSOCIATION and has ‘risen up through the ranks’ having originally joined in 1999 as a Centre Assistant, which he anticipated being a gap year! He then became our youngest ever Centre Director at Carroty Wood, Tonbridge; a post he held for 18 years. More recently, Malcolm was appointed as Sales and Operations Director across the whole organisation. He also ably covered the role of CEO between appointments.
He said: “I never imagined some 20 years ago that I would one day be Chief Executive. I am delighted and honoured to have the opportunity to lead such a great staff team. We are living in unprecedented times and the Leadership team are working hard behind the scenes to ensure we can come back stronger and ready to celebrate our centenary. I’d like to thank all our staff and valued customers for their support and we look forward to welcoming you back to our centres when we are allowed to reopen.”
Margaret Wooding Jones, Chair of Trustees, said: “These are challenging days for anyone leading such an organisation, but we are confident that Malcolm’s long and successful history with us, his wide experience and relationships across the sector which together with his humble, yet strong faith in God, will stand him in good stead for the times to come. We look forward to him leading us into the future.”
